Construction success story

Hi Everyone: I just finished a stay with Wayne and the Mayan Family group in Pana, A great experience. DOC or Cliff could you forward this on to the rest of the Spoilers. Thanks. This certainly was a new chapter in my life of experiences, would I do it again, YOU BETCHA. Seeing the smiling faces and hugs from the Mayan family people, for jobs well completed, gave  me butterflies in my stomach, just like winning a gold medal. I would have to say that everyone that helped, by donations ,tools time and dollars, are all Champions in the eyes of the Mayans. Next time you see Wayne or Judy give them a Hug or shake there hand for a job very well executed.  I saw a classroom added to the school and very happy teachers, with new cabinets for supplies. It was a big ceremony for the school. Have some great pictures. The building of a small 2 story house for a family of 6 was heart warming. This young fellow sifts sand and gravel from the river bed for $2.00 a day. back breaking work. But it's a job, a means of support and pride for the family. There new CASTLE of about 100 sq ft, has made there life, as a family.  The children had big smiles and so did Dad.  The Mayan Family organization does a great job helping out he people. Your donations are certainly making a difference. One cool happening was when Mike, Wayne and myself , were having a cool one after finishing the house, and these 2 couples from Sicamous that owe the expensive golf course on the lake as I mentioned, wanted to know what we were doing there, with a truck from Alberta? Did we get lost at the boarder? After Wayne explained the mission that had been undertaken and about  the Mayan Family  group, there driver who is Mayan drove them over to the office and they sponsored his  kids in school.   Certainly different ways to help out, that can make a difference.  Over all it was a great experience ,working with everyone, meeting and making new friends.  If you ever want a change in your vacation plans or life style donate some time to a rewarding cause. Good Luck Spoilers on the weekend in Vulcan, for you have all ready had a winning season in the eyes of about 3000 mayan people in the Pana area. Cheers Graham  aka COYOTE   proud to be a spoiler
