Hi Everyone,

Lilian Esperanza is a 19 year old mother of two boys, both of which are in our milk program. The three of them live together in an adobe room with no light or running water. The father of the kids is a drunk that does not work to support his family and lives in a seperate house. On good days, Lilian earns $3 washing clothes; when there is no work, the family has no money to buy food.

Two weeks ago Lilian's oldest son, Eduar Josue, started to fall ill. He was diagnosed with hepatitis and worms. The doctor told Lilian that the boy needs a clean bathroom and house in order to improve, but the family does not own a bathroom, and their house only has a dirt floor. Furthermore, all three of them sleep together on a bed frame without a mattress, making it very easy for little Derian, Lilian's baby, to become infected with the contagious disease.

Eduar was prescribed medication; however, the family cannot afford the $9 cost. They are also in desperate need of food.
