Mayan Families recognized as top Nonprofit for Education, Women's Empowerment and more!

PANAJACHEL, GUATEMALA
-Mayan Families has been named a top-rated nonprofit in six categories through GreatNonprofits' reviews of charitable organizations. Mayan Families is listed as a top women's empowerment organization and a top education organization among others.

Greatnonprofits.org is a nonprofit organization that provides an online forum for reviews of nonprofits. The reviews by Mayan Families volunteers, donors and others led to Mayan Families inclusion as a top nonprofit in six key areas including Education, Animal Welfare, Arts 2011, Food and Shelter, Science and Technology and Women's Empowerment.

"Mayan Families is honored to have received this high rating from such a distinguished organization," said Mayan Families' President Dwight Poage. "The ratings are a fantastic validation of our organization's values, mission, cultural sensitivity and financial transparency."

In their reviews, supporters of Mayan Families shared some of their individual stories and accomplishments. These stories, featured on the Greatnonprofits.org website, highlight examples of Mayan Families work.

Greatnonprofits.org was started as a site to provide reviews and ratings of U.S. nonprofits. Users can rate more than 1.2 million nonprofits through the site and partner sites.
