Food and Milk Program

The Cost of Living Index in Guatemala is rising faster than most people can keep pace. Corn is second only to oil as the country's largest commodity. Many families have a hard time even buying the corn meal to prepare home-made tortillas, their basic daily diet. Other fundamental foods, such as rice, flour and oatmeal are on the rise and we fear many, many more families are at risk of malnutrition. Children and infants who need formula are in the most danger.

What this Program does:

Mayan Families supplies healthy, vital food to those in need. Deliveries typically include oil, grain, meal, milk, eggs, bread and other basic items. We also provide infant formula to mothers unable to nurse their babies.

How you can help feed a needy family:

A contribution of $45 will provide a baby or young child with formulated milk for one month.
A contribution of $65 will provide a month's supply of basic food items for an average size family.
A contribution of $125 will add poultry and meats to the basic one month supply.

Please select the Contribute button to help feed needy families. All contributions of any amount are gratefully accepted and will be used only for this Program.

If you would like to direct your donation towards someone special, then send a message to personaldonation@mayanfamilies.org to alert our distribution team.
